Mountain Re-Cap

A quick trip up to the mountains was just what I needed for a well balanced week!
A visit to see family, friends, a lot of rain, some horses and cows.
I love riding down the old country roads,

seeing where I lived pre-kids....where I would sit out on my front porch and look up at Mt. Yonah....ah, those were the good ole days. Where out my front door was about 1000 acres of fields and a creek just down the hill, where we could go hiking any time of day just out our back door. I lived there a short amount of time, only 2 years. But this is where I met my best friends there, found myself, my love for the simpler times.
Oh my, I was totally dreaming....I just really love that place. But, as much as there is to love, I know that I really love it here. I have met some really wonderful friends, that I wouldn't have survived some of my life obstacles without them! I have developed a love for knitting. I have a great family nearby with a wonderful supportive husband and a perfect healthy child. And when I don't feel like cooking, there are some really fabulous restaurants fairly nearby. As you can see, I do really love it here and I am proud to call it home.
So, how glad am I that the trip only takes me about 1.5 hours to get there!

It's always a treat to sit at my parents kitchen table, (the table I grew up sitting at) and eating breakfast. My mom put in some bird seed and hummingbird feeders outside the window, so it was a delight to sit and watch the birds flutter by. The hummingbird chasing each other off each territory.

Below is a spider web that was right outside my parents house that out lasted the thunderstorms and rain.

This Sky

This
Sky
Where we live
Is no place to lose your wings
So love, love,
Love.

A Visit to Grandmas

Oscar and I took off for a couple days up to visit our dear friend, Mountains.
Driving through quite a few rough storms, it was such a breath
of fresh air to visit old friends and family.
It was my grandmother's Birthday yesterday so we paid her a well deserved visit.

I was taken back in time looking at old photographs and frames she had
put together with her family in mind.

We knitted and talked, reminscencing about her childhood.

Although she can't remember what happened yesterday she can remember so clearly her dear brothers and sisters, how they played, what they said and how she felt.

(This picture is 4 generations: her grandmother, her mother,
her 1st daughter, (my mom), herself and her brother)

I asked her how old she felt and she replied dreamily, "I feel as I did when I was younger and could do anything".
I hope to always live in the moment and not to take my life for granted.

(This is a picture of my mom that I've always loved!)

I will return soon with pictures of my trip to Mountains!

25 August 2008

We have been basking in the puppy love around here.
Sally is so cute....her little 3 pound self! She sleeps a lot but when she awakens it's all play!
She has been just what we needed for our little family. Well, not so little, with 1 babe, 2 dogs,
1 cat, 1 fish and 7 chickens. It's enough to keep you busy.

Who says you can't play at work?

I'm off to get some R&R in the mountains. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

Cousin

So, last week and really the week before our world was a little different over here.
We had the privilege of having our nephew, Sage stay with us. Oscar really thinks the world of him....he's about the only one he'll talk to on the telephone.
I don't remember having this type of bond with anyone whom wasn't one of my brothers or sisters. As soon as Oscar saw cousin Sage, it was immediate attraction, you couldn't have pried them away from each other. And you wouldn't have wanted to, to see how much they miss one another, it really was beautiful. Seeing them react with such joy you could see the definite blood bond between these two. Blood bonds are truly amazing! We had a great time hanging out with him and will miss him until we see him again!

A New Addition

We have welcomed a new addition to our little family. Her name is Sally, (for now) and she is 9 weeks old. She is a Chiweenie which is a mix between a Chihuahua and Dachshund.
She is very cute and so sweet. She is a snuggler and O really loves that. He takes good care of her, (for right now); always making sure she is comfortable, wanting to carry her around, (all day!) taking her to the bathroom. I don't know how long this is going to last but it sure is cute.
Every time I turn around he's asking me to take a picture of them doing this and doing that.
So here are a few of those:

A very cute girl, right?!

On the way to the vet to get her first check up.

Cuddled and hiding with Oscar in her new blanket.

Stay tuned for some more from puppy love.

30 Days of Happiness :: 30

I can't believe the time has come. It has been a long but quick 30 days of happiness, lasting oh about 56 days. I've learned a lot about myself in this short amount of time. Starting at when I first started writing for my blog all the way to today, over a year later.
Looking back over my blog, I find amazment in the changes we endure in such a short time period.
Changes in myself, my family dynamics, my son, my husband, what I was doing then, how it is different or the same from today. So, I thank all thoes out there that have insired me to create my own blog, so that I may also have this great historical experience.

I hope you all have a great week, I'll taking this week off but will return soon!
Below is O's 1st stick creature made into a bean pillow bag. This was inspired by O's little friend's birthday party where we played corn hole.
Take Care!

30 Days of Happiness :: 28

Reasons for Celebration:
O's buddy turning 3 today
A dear friend having a baby boy this morning.
Happy Birthday Dear Ones!

thought this was fitting:
The God Who Only Knows Fours Words

Every
Child
Has known God,
Not the God of names,
Not the God of don'ts,
Not the God who ever does
Anything weird,
But the God who only knows four words
And keeps repeating them, saying:
"Come dance with Me."
Come
Dance.

30 Days of Happiness :: 26

Whew! I'm back....well, should I say, my camera is back as of last night.
And I am ecstatic. It was missed not only by myself but O.

And happiness to me is, (besides getting my camera back) Friday morning receiving
my lovely soulemama embroidered hoop.
We, Oscar and I ordered it last week when her infamous shop update opened.
Oscar picked it out and I approve. It makes a lovely addition to our home.
It's fun to get things in the mail besides bills every once in a while.
I hope you all have a blessed weekend and receive something nice in the mail as well.
